Laser Therapy is the use of specific wavelengths of light (red and near-infrared) to create therapeutic effects. These effects include improved healing time, pain reduction, increased circulation and decreased swelling. Laser Therapy has been widely utilized in Europe by physical therapists, nurses and doctors as far back as the 1970s. Now, after FDA clearance in 2002, Laser Therapy is being used extensively in the United States.

Pain Management

Pain is something that you pet may have during his or her lifetime. Our staff is trained to recognize pain in your pet. Depending on the level of pain, Dr. Sylvia can administer the correct pain medication and the correct dosage. Human forms of pain management are not good for your pet (Advil, etc.). So, if you see changes in your pet’s personality or habits, bring it in for an exam. This may be an indication of pain.

Dental Care

Your pet can’t brush its teeth so, as an owner, you can help them out. Regular professional cleaning is an important part of your pet’s health. We use safe and modern technology to clean each tooth in order to remove plaque and tarter. We will also instruct the owner on better ways to take care of his or her pet’s teeth at home. We also offer digital dental radiography.

We have a state of the art radiology room that now includes digital radiography. X-Rays are developed within minutes and Dr. Sylvia can read them while you wait.

Our surgery suite is sterile and very clean. We perform spays, neuters, bladder stone removal, growth removals and much more with the highest standards of care for your pet. We offer pre-anesthetic blood screening before you pet undergoes anesthesia. Your pet is monitoring during the entire surgery by Dr. Sylvia and one of the Veterinary Nurses. The Nurse will constantly monitor heart rate, temperature, respiratory rate, oxygen, and pulse. We ensure that you pet in comfortable during surgery and recovery. Dogs are discharged the same day and cats are kept overnight.

Wellness Plans and Visits

We now offer yearly wellness packages for your dog or cat.

Our goal is to provide quality, individual care to each pet and recommend preventative care. This care starts with a wellness exam which includes a physical exam of ears, eyes, heart, lungs, skin, temperature, etc. It also includes vaccines, blood parasite screens, blood work, and intestinal parasite screens. We recommend having the wellness exam yearly for pets less than 7 years old. For pets 8 years of age or older, we recommend twice a year. We will also talk to you about heartworm prevention and flea control during the exam.

House Calls

Dr. Sylvia does offer house calls. She will come to your home to do routine care such as vaccines, heartworm tests and intestinal parasite exams. Our house calls are limited to a 15-mile radius of the clinic and have an additional charge.
